You can hire a skip for 3 days. If you need your skip collecting before the 3rd day please call us and we can collect the skip.

What can you not put in a skip?

There are materials that we are unable to take away in a skip. These include: gas bottles, chemicals and solvents, batteries, clinical waste (such as syringes, soiled dressings, medicine bottles), liquids (such as oil) and asbestos.

These are examples of WEEE items (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and cannot be put into a skip. In most cases the council will collect these items for free.

The skip should be filled no higher than the height of the sides and should be level loaded in order for us to be able to transport the skip safely to our waste recycling plant.

Plasterboard is not allowed to be disposed of in landfill sites. If you have any plasterboard this should be separated from the other waste and order an additional miniskip to collect this plasterboard.

Can you put a variety of different waste into the same skip?

Providing you have the correct skip size you can mix your different types of waste in the same skip. For example, garden and heavy goods waste can only be added to skips sizes of 8 yards and under.
